This morning, Hardin Northern hosted our annual retiree breakfast, and what a wonderful time it was! It was so heartwarming to see so many familiar faces and catch up with those who have played such an important role in shaping our school and community.

Today, the elementary students found a surprising note from none other than the Grinch! He apologized for trying to take Daisy Mae yesterday and, to make up for his naughty behavior over the past few weeks, he left a special gift-chocolate for each student! We’re just glad the Grinch is gone and that he had a change of heart before Christmas. The Christmas spirit is alive and well at Hardin Northern.

The 5th graders just finished an exploratory project on Ancient Civilizations in the Western Hemisphere. Students were asked to research 8 characteristics of either the Inca, Maya, Mississippian, or Aztec Civilizations. They presented their findings to the class by using a slide presentation and a poster. Great job, 5th Grade!

Our second graders had a blast this week solving story problems to build their very own gingerbread people! Each student solved a series of problems to earn a piece of their gingerbread person. From eyes to buttons, they used their math skills to unlock all the pieces—and the best part? They got to be creative and design their gingerbread people however they wanted!
