During Health class, our 7th grade students took part in an important lesson on making healthy choices. A guest speaker came in to talk about the dangers of vaping, breaking down the myths and sharing the facts. After the presentation, students participated in activities that reinforced what they learned and encouraged them to think about the impact of their choices. Proud of our Bears for engaging in meaningful conversations about making smart choices.

Dress up days
It’s Fri-YAY! This morning, our Polar Bears were greeted by the girls volleyball team with high-fives and big smiles to kick off the day. The kids were so excited to see their older role models spreading positivity, and the energy was contagious! Even Chilly joined in the fun, bringing plenty of hugs, fist pumps, and laughter to start the morning right. It’s going to be a great day—and an even greater day to be a Polar Bear!

Have a great Friday!

Last night, the Hardin Northern Golf Team and the Ridgemont Golf Team decided to wrap up the regular season with something a little different before heading into Sectionals. Instead of facing off against each other, Polar Bears and Gophers from both teams were paired up-to create mixed teams for the night!

It was a great evening filled with laughs, good shots, and even better memories. While they’ve been competitors all season long, this match was all about the friendships they’ve built and the game they love to play. And to make things even more exciting, the coaches got in on the action too-bringing their own friendly rivalry to their golfers playing against them as well.

What an awesome way to end the season and have fun and relax before they head into Sectionals!

Good evening. I am reaching out to all of you parents and guardians to inform you that Hardin Northern has the capability of calling a 3-hour delay. We have yet to use a 3-hour delay over the last couple of years, but with the possibility of a rough winter, the 3-hour delay may save us a calamity day for future use. Sometimes it cannot be avoided, but today is a perfect example of what usually happens, and the fog lifts as soon as we cancel. The weather specialists are saying that tomorrow and Friday could look very similar to yesterday and today, so I want you all to be prepared in case, and for future reference.

In this scenario, buses will leave 3 hours later than their normally scheduled time, and school will start for students at 11:20 am. The students will still be released at the normal 3:15 pm time. Hopefully, we do not need to use this, but if the situation arises, I want you all to have preparations in place.

Also, I am aware that our communication system was not fully functioning this morning in getting out timely information. Multiple schools that use the same software faced the same issues. The software company admitted that it was their mistake on their end and has assured us that the system is fully functional now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you, and have a good evening.

Your servant in education,

Drew Cano
