Way to go, Bears!🏀

Kindergarten finished up a PBL unit on arctic animals. We learned about the arctic and the animals that live there;created a habitat using plates, mini animal figures and salt dough; measured arctic animals; and built igloos using marshmallows and icing on a bowl flipped upside down. Fun times in kindergarten!

Today’s throwback comes straight from the 2008 Northern Lites yearbook as we spotlight the Homecoming Dance!

Our 3rd grade students had a hands-on rock and mineral lab yesterday! Using hand lenses, we carefully examined our samples, performed scratch and streak tests to explore hardness, and used our observations to classify rocks and identify minerals. So much learning through science exploration!
Good luck, Bears!🏀

Congratulations to Hayes Mast, Izzy Weihrauch, Lisa Ruark, Marcell Hogan, Mary Morgan, Bella Conyers, and Creek Dale for mastering our Prefixes and Suffixes unit! Way to persevere!

Earlier this week, Mr. Foster’s Personal Finance class visited the Ohio Supreme Court in Columbus. The day started with a tour of the Thomas Moyer Supreme Court building. Students learned about the artwork, architecture, and the extensive efforts to restore the 1930s building. Students explored the Law Library and the Courthouse Visitor Center, where they participated in several interactive displays. Each student was assigned a role in a criminal case and an appellate case.
As a final stop and reward, we stopped for lunch at Son of Thurman in Delaware, where pounds and pounds of hamburgers (and two salads) were devoured! Good food for a great group of kids.
